Abstract:In order to surviving from the intense competition of today’s market, logistics companies have to integrate distributed logistics resource quickly to face the customer’s need in time. An important problem to those companies is how to integrate all required logistics resource in a short time. This paper introduces Semantic Web Service technology into logistics resource integration study, and provides an logistics service ontology and logistics service discovery model, by which enhancing the effectiveness of logistics service discovery and fulfilling the integration and sharing of logistics resources.

1 Introduction
The global logistics is formulated in the intense competition of global market in 21st century. The characteristics of modern logistics are informationalizing, networking, intelligentizing and so on. In order to surviving from the intense competition of today’s market, logistics companies have to integrate distributed logistics services quickly (for example, leading the other logistics companies to establish an logistics alliance or virtual logistics enterprise to accomplish an order; integrating storage and transportation network in different countries or areas) to face the customer’s need in time. An important problem to all the logistics companies is how to integrate all required logistics resource in a short time.
The topic of integration of logistics resource has been popular for years. Xu Jie described how to fulfill the logistics resource integration and utilization by coordinated operation among logistics organizations[1]. Liu Ren studied about the dynamic networking and resource sharing of logistics network[2]. Ding Jian et al introduced a J2EE-based logistics enterprise management information system to integrate logistics information resource[3]. Shen li[4], Zeng Yurong[5], Wang Jianhua[6] et al focused on the construction of public logistics information platform. In view of the previous studies, the solution of logistics resources integration is by sharing logistics information and logistics service integration.
So far, although there are many approaches on logistics resources integration, limited work has been done on how to discover the required logistics service in such a huge logistics market. As mentioned above, this paper introduces semantic web service technology into the research of logistics resources discovery, and provides a logistics service ontology and logistics service discovery model.
