ABSTRACT
Recentlywith the boom of economy and foreign trade, the multi-modal transport system,e.g. sea-railway transportation, rail-road transportation, etc. is emphasizedby many countries to facilitate the foreign trade. Therefore, the infrastructure for the multi-modal transport system is becoming moreimportant. This paper tries to analyze the elements which influence theefficiency of the railway system in the container port. Firstly, this paperintroduces the function and operational procedures of the rail system in thecontainer port. Secondly, this paper sets up the theoretical model of loading-unloadingline subsystem in the container port based on the Generalized Stochastic Petri Nets.Thirdly, this paper simulates the Petri Nets of handling subsystem of therailway system based on Stpnplay Software. Finally, this paper utilizes theMarkov chain as the same configuration as GSPN to achieve the steady probabilityin order to discuss the performance indicators of efficiency and throughput ofthe loading-unloading lines of the railway system in the container port.

0 INTRODUCTION
Container multi–modaltransport is the transport method that the intermodal operators deliver thecontainers from one place to another appointed place by at least two transportationmethods. Recently with the boom of economy and foreigntrade, railway transportation is becoming important in international containertransportation. Consequently the intermodal transportation system, e.g.sea-railway transportation, rail-road transportation, etc. is emphasized bymany countries to facilitate the foreign trade. However, in
