Abstract:This paper searches more than 56,214 logistics research papers inthe Science Citation Index (SCI), Engineering Index (EI) and China AcademicJournal Network Publishing Database (CAJD) from 1996 to 2008. We use Years tostand for Decision Making Unit (DMU) to propose a model of evaluating R&Defficiency in logistics based on Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) approach fromChina.

1.INTRODUCTION
With thedevelopment of economy, the result of the competition between modernenterprises is that both the manufacturing enterprises and commercialenterprises have entered a low-profit era, and also the cost and profit ofproducts become very transparent. Modern logistics has become “the third sourceof profit”, which is a vital source that can help enterprises reduce costs andachieve an advantage in the competition. February 25, 2009, Chinese Premierchaired a State Council executive meeting, examined and adopted with principlethat vitalizing plan via the adjustment of Logistics Industry; researchdeployment plays the function of supporting with technology, promoting thedevelopment of economy stably and rapidly. With logistics playing a more importantrole in the economic growth, scientific community's concern for logistics isalso rising.
In this paper,we use Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA) approach to analyze the condition ofpublished research papers which are in the fields of logistics and supply chainin China in recent years, and result shows that from the "quantity",the condition of published research papers which are in the fields of logisticsand supply chain in China is showing a trend with a relative fast growth; butfrom the "quality" , the papers published in the high level academicpapers of SCI is relatively less, the entire efficiency of papers is stillrelatively low.
