Abstract

Tosucceed in the digital economy, organizations have to learn not only managingbut also integrating all the links of business. Logistics, as one of the keylinks, has accounts for more and more percentages in margin growth in recentyears. As a consequence, it makes a lot of contribution on regional economicdevelopment. A firm can control and make the logistics plan very easiercompared with operating logistics of a region. This article mainly analysesthe logistics circumstance of Yunnan, China. According to SWOT model, it iseasy to find out the internal strengths and weaknesses, and the externalopportunities and treats of Yunnan. In addition, the possibility of implementingsupply chain integration to develop Yunnan logistics will be explored. Then itpoints out the existing problems in current logistics. Finally, a basic informationintegration model based on the main points of supply chain integration theoryfor Yunnan logistics development is proposed.

As the development ofworldwide trade, global competitions in economic area become more and morefiercely. Each competitor in the market tries to establish and maintain the corecompetency of it. The aim for doing so is very obvious, to get more margin andturnover than others. In the history of human development, there are severalkinds of profits sources which include production, human resource andlogistics. After the influence of the first two profitable resources arebecoming fewer and fewer, logistics, which is regarded as the third profitablesource, has played a significant role in business activities in today’s world. 

As logistics is becomingthe key competency to win in the changeable market, high quality and efficiencyof logistics activities is the powerful weapon for enterprises to stand out inthe market. In order to enhance the level of operating logistics and offerbetter service to meet customers at right time, supply chain management must beapplied. And the era of supply chain management is coming now. No matter who(an enterprise, a region or a country), as long as owing an efficientlogistics, especially an integrated supply chain, it can have a strong positionin the competitive environment.
