Abstract: Multi-point impulse tests, which coulddetermine the transfer function of each point, were carried through on verticaland horizontal direction of sphericalguide-slider joint surface by DATRANdynamic analyzer. Multi-point impulse tests could determine the transferfunction of each point. In order to determine the single-DOF mode of thesphericalguide-slider joint surface, the top surface and one of the flankingsurfaces of the sliding block were selected as test-object. When the amplitudeof each point on the same surface is mainly equal with each other, the correspondingmode could be judged to be single-DOF mode. The experiment conclusion would bea foundation for the future dynamic simulation.
1. Introduction
The existence of a large quantity ofmachine joint surface, the interface between components, breached thecontinuity of the machine system, and made it more complicated [1]. Consequently, the joint surface of the tool guide ways impacted the dynamic characteristic of thewhole machine remarkably. So far, the dynamic characteristic parameters ofmachine tool guide ways can be obtained by dynamic testing methods [2]. Recently, researchers on dynamicsmodel amendment and optimization of machine tool framework developed rapidly. G. Bianchi etc.[3], scholars from the Catholic University of America, established a connectionbetween dynamic design and machine tool control. T. P. Yeh etc. combinedoptimization design of machine tool structural with Virtual Reality technology.Based on Finite Element Method and dynamic analysis, T. Jiangand M. Chiredas simulated the combining formation of the machine toolstructural by a mathematical model, and topologically optimized the locationand quantity of connecting parts (such as welding spots and bolts). C. Z. Wu, basedon MG1432B grinder dynamic testing system, developed a discretization errorline-optimum method which analyzed the bottleneck of the complete machinestructure, and put forward the protocol modification. This new method provided anexact and reliable gist for dynamic performance amendment of the completemachine structure [4].
For testing the parameters of sphericalguide-slider joint surface, the analytical method of single-DOF component is put forward in this paper. Asshown in Fig.1, during the testing, in order to measure the transfer functionsof particular points on the sphericalguide joint surface, stimulations wereapplied vertically and laterally on each point on joint surface, and thus thecharacteristic parameters of the joint surface could be discovered. The testingequipment—DATRAN dynamic analyzer are shown in Fig.2.
